UV dye is injected into the A/C system and circulates with the refrigerant oil. Under UV light, any leak point is revealed as a bright fluorescent glow, making even tiny leaks easy to find.
Yes — the Glo-Leak® 250ml UV Bottle – R1234yf/R134a/Hybrid is formulated for use in both R134a and R1234yf systems, including hybrid and EV applications.
For most passenger vehicles, a single dose of 250ml is sufficient. Avoid overdosing, as excess dye can cause foaming and system issues.
UV dye remains in the system indefinitely once injected. This means future leaks can be detected at any point without re-dosing, as long as the dye is still visible.
The Glo-Leak® 250ml UV Bottle – R1234yf/R134a/Hybrid is fully compatible with all A/C system materials and will not affect refrigerant or oil performance when used as directed.
A UV torch (365–395nm wavelength) is required to view the fluorescent dye. Many of our leak detection kits include a suitable UV torch and glasses.
